On the 16. September, we had the official kick off of our project.
Shortly after that we decided to participate together with the ASL Lab at the MBZIRC, a robotics Challenge in Abu Dhabi taking place next February (https://www.mbzirc.com/challenge/2020). We are responsible for challenge one. The aim of challenge one is to catch a ball which is connected to a randomly flying Drone. We are using
the Drone from Voliro (https://www.voliro.ch/) as the platform. Our job is to create a catching mechanism and to develop a software such that the drone fulfills its task completely autonomously.
We managed to build the first prototype of our catching mechanism within 2 weeks. While the software team members got familiar with each working environment.
